Planets Vs PMI Knowledge Areas

We have 9 PMI Knowledge areas. They are,

1. Scope Management - Deals with work and work related area
2. Schedule Management - Definition of task, mapping of resources, creating Work Breakdown Structures
3. Cost Management - Deals with all aspect of financials of the project. Analyse amount of work achieved Vs amount of money spent. Are we into the planned budget are not?
4. Quality Management - Are we following as per process defined at the organisation, account, project level?
5. HR Management - Are we have correct people at correct positions? Did we assign correct roles and responsibilities?
6. Communication Management - How offen & frequent we are engaging with our stakeholders? Are we providing correct & enough information? For a public limited company, even publishing quarterly reports to government and shareholders, is also part of this knowledge area.
7. Risk Management - How are we anticipating risks to execute project? Did we have enough preventive / corrective action planned?
8. Vendor Management - In case if we outsource any of our project work to external vendors, how do we manage them to have deliverables as per our expectations.
9. Integration Management - How are integrating all the above mentioned aspects with reference to the objectives? In case of any deviation at any level, how do balance and achieve final objective.

From Astrology perspective we have 7 planets and 2 shadow planets. They are,

1. Sun - Administrative, Disciplined
2. Moon - Fast moving planet
3. Mars - Strong, firm, and vibrant
4. Mercury - Calculative and statistical, mathematical
5. Jupiter - Financial oriented
6. Venus - Charismatics, Attractive
7. Saturn - Slow moving, hard to understand
8. Rahu - Break the boundaries
9. Kethu - Expect the unexpected

Based on exposure of above mentioned topics, I just started mapping both these disciplines like this.

1. Sun - Integration Management
2. Moon - Schedule Management
3. Mars - Communication Management
4. Mercury - Quality Management
5. Jupiter - Cost Management
6. Venus - HR Management
7. Saturn - Scope Management
8. Rahu - Vendor Management
9. Kethu - Risk Management

1 to 7 - reflections of Sunday to Saturday, rest of them are additional.

This is one of the technique adopted in my training for upcoming project managers, to remember all the knowledge areas of project management.

Project Management Vs Astrology

The topic, itself surprising...Yes its. Based on the nature, we are aware, they are different subjects, but based on my personal observation, 'had blessing to see quiet a lot of commonalities. Those observations are depicted as part of this post.

What is Project Management?
Unique, Time bound, Capability to deliver product, service or result

What is Person?
Unique, Person begins his life and gets over i.e. Time bound, as long as survives, ensure to deliver goods as per purpose.

How Astrology linked with Person?
A study observing person behaviours, progressions, characteristics and anticipating future performance of the same, by the process of extrapolation. To study this, we refer based on another parameter, which is cutting across person, is Time. This is measured, based on the position of planets, moving around mother planet earth.

How does, above linkage influence with Project Management?
As per Project Management, we observe, so many different projects, across technologies, across geographies. The observation is to, identify parameters, factors, characters, which support for project success. By improving those thing, which helps to improve subsequent projects delivery. This practice, is also known as lessons learnt.

So, Project Management & Astrology learning are common for all?
No. Neither Project Management Nor Astrology defines the same.

Both works on localisation & specialisation.

Project Management learnings, and implementation, greatly influenced by organization culture, and strategic focus. This is NOT common across industries, across companies, within company across different accounts, different portfolios, different projects etc.

Similarly, Astrology, defines the predication based on the individual's birth location & time, the horoscope made. The progression, is dependent upon, their close family members horoscope, their friends horoscope, their relative horoscope, their peer group horoscope also. Based on individual karma(can be mapped with learnings), family karma(organization culture), support from society(strategic focus) his success, gets defined.

That's all for this post. We will see few more posts, comparing PMI Knowledge Areas with Planets characteristics. Thanks.

What can we give to God...!!!

In a Satsang session, the presenter asked a question to audience, "What is that you can give to God?". After silence for few minutes, the responses were like this.

(1) Manas
(2) Flowers
(3) Unconditional Love
(4) Surrender

After these responses, presenter replied,

(a) Manas, we are unaware of the same. So we may not able to give.
(b) Flowers, which has come-out by God's soil, God's water, God's sunlight. Actually its all belongs to him. We cannot claim to be ours. So, this cannot be given
(c ) Unconditional Love - Love means unconditional only. These are very high state of mind, which cannot realized by everyone, so it cannot be looked as possible option.
(d) Surrender - This also high-in state of mind. Very tough work-out and offer to God. This cannot be done by everybody, so this also not a workable option.

Then, what is that you can offer?

  • You can offer things which belongs to you alone can offer.
  • The thing which is available with you from the day you born and still exists means, you can offer such thing.

Audience confused. Presenter, smilingly said, that each-one is born, on to this world, with sizeable lifetime. That time is, what we should offer to God. The format in which we offer is called, prayer, dhyanam, meditation etc.

Audience pleased and felt blessed.

Bhava means

Astrology, we always talk about Bhava or Bhavams.

How do we understand this Bhava as concept?

For new product implementation, we talk about business modelling, where we compare organization process with product functionalities is called business modelling.

Reference to Software development, we talk about Data Modelling, to develop optimized data storing methods, we analyse possible data table structures, can be known as Data Modelling.

How do we identify different Bhava?

We need to identify lagnam / Ascendent. From that need to count each box / block, in clockwise direction to see all different 12 Bhavas.

What does this Bhava signify?

Lagnam / Ascendent - Self
2nd Bhavam - Family
3rd Bhavam - Younger Brother
4th Bhavam - Mother
5th Bhavam - Kids
6th Bhavam - Enemies
7th Bhavam - Friends, life partner
8th Bhavam - Pithrus
9th Bhavam - Father
10th Bhavam - Business partners
11th & 12th Bhavam - Success & Failure / Profit & loss / Elder brother & Dependents

Whether Bhava definition is firm?

No. Based on the topic discussed, bhava definition would change accordingly.

Nakshathram, Padam, Raasi Structure

We all know that, total we have 27 Nakshathram. Each Nakshathram, has 4 padams. So totally 108 padams(27*4). We have totally 12 raasi. Each raasi, distributed to 9 padams. So, its equally distributed.

Lets just try to understand this combination, in a our own perspective.

Padam like row of houses i.e. streets.
Group of streets are known as Nakshathrams.
Combination of Group of streets are known as Area i.e. Rasis.

At Chennai, T.Nagar & West Mambalam is differentiated by a subway only. These need to be known as Rasis. Because T.Nagar & West Mambalam, has multiple streets and each street has multiple houses.

At T.Nagar, we have different streets like, Natesan street, Ranganathan Street, & Ramanathan Street.  These are like Nakshathrams.

We have Easwar book house in Natesan Street, Saravana Stores in Ranganathan Street, & Ramakrishna School in Ramanathan Street. First one is last part of the street, Second is middle part of the street, and Third is first part of the street. These part are known as padams.

If we could understand this geography of the galaxy system, then, placement of planets, and their influence with others, can be related quickly to provide predictions.

Relationship between Chappathi & Crow

Most of the conventional family, they serve first part of their food to crow, as a representative of 'Pithrus' (i.e our forefathers / mothers). People feel very happy, if a crow happened to eat it immediately.

In this process, whenever, I happened to serve Wheat Chappathi to crow....believe me...the crows, just love it. They come in very high group and take each and every piece of it.

This observation, made me to think, more in detail and analyse to spot, possible root cause behind it.

Crow is known to be representative of Saturn. Wheat(light brown grains) is known to be the representative of Sun. Generally, we prepare, Chappathi or Poori, by using Wheat.

We know, Lord Saturn is son of Lord Sun. But Sun cared more about Saturn's brother, not Saturn. However, Saturn was so keen on his father Sun. To get his father's love, Saturn, went ahead and done lot of prayers...which made him to become, has planet.  Thereafter, Its a history.

This love of Saturn, can be seen as Crow's attraction over Wheat Chappathi.

If you do not believe it, please try it yourself. Thanks.

Relationship between Sun & Saturn

Sun - known to be Atmakarakan   Saturn - known to be Karmakarakan

Let us understand what is Atma & Karma?

Atma - Ability to see life in things. Means, all things, items, people, creatures, animals, are from the same substance and we are not superior or inferior. This leads to the understanding of treating everything, everyone at ease and par. This is the greatest level of maturity. If the individual happen to be in this state, then, his focus with the environment & nature, would change, to bring better ease and peace, for the self and others. On this basis, he will end-up, demonstrating better administrative abilities and skills.

Karma - means Activities. An Individual, who does work, on any form, either visible, or invisible, either physical or mental, either social or emotional, are known to be representatives of Karma. Based on the nature of the activities, whoever involved in activities / karma, will end-up, having the feeling as that the individual is superior / inferior than the others. The edge/difference in feelings, emotions, thinkings are known to be EGO. In nutshell, ability to see difference from others.

To balance between Atma & Karma, we need to dedicate, all the outcomes, out of Karmic activities, to almighty, in the form of 'Arpanam'(i.e. Krishnarpanam, Sivaarpanam). This is crux shown in Bhagavath Geetha as, 'Do your Duty, do not worry about Results'.

Based on this understanding of Atmic & Karmic characteristics, we need to accept, that they do not become, PEAK or WEAK, at the same positions. On this reference only, SUN is peak at Mesham and Weak at Thulam. Similarly, Saturn is peak at Thulam and weak at Mesham.

Mercury & Venus Relationships

Mercury - Known to be Mathematical  Venus - Known to be Luxury, enjoying life lavishly.

Mercury & Venus known to be Mitra planets. Look at the intensity of the relationships among them.

If Mercury is peak, means, if a person is too much of Mathematical, Calculative, then, he may not enjoy their life happily. Mercury is peak at Kanni and Venus is weak at the same place.

If Venus is peak, means, if a person enjoys his life in style, lavishly, beyond their limits, it shows that the person is lacks the ability, to manage effectively by calculative steps. Venus is peak at Pisces and Mercury is weak at the same place.

Incidentally, these two planets are friends, and they move almost together, shows that they complement each other. In that manner, they help to balance our life, by enjoying life and also, reserve the resources at appropriate times. Thanks.

Moon - Peak and Weak

Moon - Rules Katagam, Peak at Rishbam, and Weak at Vrichikam.

Moon - Tries to maintain eco-balance with all planets. But its known to be peak at Rishbam and weak at Vrichikam. Why?

Because Rahu - Rules Rishbam & Kethu - Rules Vrichikam, along with the existing rulers.

So, Rahu, create disturbance of Moon by making it to operate excess. At the same time, the moon, reaches at Vrichikam, Kethu, does not allow it operate, at its own level, which in turn become weak.

Based on Financial economics, share market people, generally say its 'bull market', which means, the market is moving to great heights. Incidentally, Rishbam sign is also bull.  Most of the people, who lose money in share market, are the people, those who have invested in bull market. During that time, our emotions, intelligence, calculations, gets shaked-up, due to the bull market attraction. All these things are the influence of Moon.

Reference to the Newton's life, where he has identified gravitational force, just by observing an apple falling from tree. Was that new observation? or was it a new incident?  Its just connect between thinking and that event. His findings and the triggering event are not connected at all. But he discovered like this only. This is the influence of Kethu. You get ideas, from a non-connected events, probably, that observation, bound to correct and successful.

Its an observation, to bring to your notice, that, sometimes, Peak positions does not mean to be beneficial and also, Weak position does not mean to be malefic.

Relationship between Mars & Jupiter

Relationship between Mars & Jupiter

Mars known to be Anger...Guru/Jupiter known to be Clarity of thoughts...

At Makaram, Mars is Peak and Guru is Weak and at Katagam, Mars is weak and Guru is Peak.

It means, If we are able to understand and think clearly means, we are at Peace and free from anger. If we are unable to think clearly and understand better, then we are restless, leads to anger.

Scientifically, these two planets are inversely proportional to each other.

Spiritually, if we see god in stone, then god is their...if we happened to see stone in god, then stone is their.

Medically, If we are in anger, the blood flow to the brain reduced, breathe rate increased and we struggle to think better. Similarly, if we happened to be in peace, better blood flow to the brain, with normal rate of breath, we could think effectively.

Socially, if armed force becomes powerful, then quality of peace challenged. If the armed force becomes less powerful, then quality of life and peace improved.

But Mars & Jupiter are mitra planets, but in nature, they are opposite to each other. Probably that's the explanation of 'opposite poles attract each other.
